Prestin, a sixteen year old boy, came to our program several years ago. He had behavior issues, and was getting poor grades in school. He had no positive male role model in his life. His single mom was into addiction and they constantly moved from place to place because of lack of finances and her dysfunctional behavior.
As a result of mentoring and guidance and participating in program activities, he now gets A’s in school, takes advanced courses, is active in ROTC, is the mascot for his high school football team, and volunteers for many projects and events. We are so proud of him!
This is what we know. We not only have helped change HIS life, but also the direction of his personal future family because he’s learned how to make good decisions. At this writing his mom’s addiction is under control and she has been working full-time. We encourage her to continue on this path of renewal.
